1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the FinLit Malaysia website and services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and FinLit Malaysia. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of our services after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for changes.

2. Description of Services

FinLit Malaysia provides comprehensive financial literacy education through various channels including online courses, in-person workshops, seminars, educational materials, and consulting services. Our programs are specifically designed for the Malaysian market and cover topics such as:

  • Personal budgeting and financial planning
  • Investment strategies and portfolio management
  • Islamic finance and Shariah-compliant investments
  • Business finance and entrepreneurship
  • Tax optimization and retirement planning
  • Real estate investment and property financing

All course content is developed by certified financial professionals and updated regularly to reflect current Malaysian market conditions and regulatory requirements.

3. User Registration and Accounts

To access certain features of our services, you must create an account by providing accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your login credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Be responsible for all activities conducted through your account
  • Use only one account per individual

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent activities. Account holders must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent to use our services.

4. Payment Terms and Refund Policy

Payment for courses and services must be made in full before access is granted, unless otherwise specified in a payment plan agreement. We accept major credit cards, online banking transfers, and other payment methods as indicated on our website. All prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and include applicable taxes.

Refund Policy: We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for most courses, calculated from the date of purchase or course commencement, whichever comes first. Refund requests must be submitted in writing with a valid reason. Refunds may be denied if significant course materials have been accessed or downloaded, or if the refund request is made in bad faith.

Custom training programs, one-on-one consulting sessions, and specialized workshops may have different refund policies as specified in the respective service agreements. Processing time for approved refunds is 7-14 business days.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All content provided through FinLit Malaysia services, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, audio clips, video content, course materials, software, and other materials, are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This content is the exclusive property of FinLit Malaysia or our licensed content providers.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use our content solely for personal, non-commercial educational purposes. You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display our content without permission
  • Create derivative works based on our materials
  • Share course access credentials with others
  • Record, screenshot, or otherwise capture our content for redistribution
  • Use our content for commercial purposes or competing services

6. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities

You agree to use our services in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You are solely responsible for your conduct while using our services. Prohibited activities include but are not limited to:

  • Violating any local, state, national, or international laws
  • Harassing, threatening, or intimidating other users or staff
  • Posting or transmitting inappropriate, offensive, or defamatory content
  • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Using automated systems to access our services without permission
  • Impersonating others or providing false information
  • Interfering with the proper functioning of our website or services

Violations of these conduct rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and access to our services, without refund.

The information provided through FinLit Malaysia courses and services is for educational purposes only and should not be construed as personalized financial advice. While our instructors are qualified professionals, the content is designed to provide general knowledge and may not be suitable for your specific financial situation.

You should always consult with qualified financial advisors, accountants, or other professionals before making specific financial decisions. FinLit Malaysia does not guarantee any particular financial outcomes or investment returns based on the information provided in our courses.

Market conditions, regulations, and financial products are subject to change, and past performance does not guarantee future results. You acknowledge that all financial decisions made based on our educational content are made at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, FinLit Malaysia shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services, including but not limited to financial losses, business interruption, or loss of data.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim, or RM 1,000, whichever is less.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so these limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia and other applicable data protection laws. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may terminate your account by contacting us or ceasing to use our services. We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, for any breach of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

Upon termination, your right to use our services will cease immediately. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.

Before initiating any legal proceedings, parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good faith negotiations. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, disputes may be submitted to binding arbitration under the rules of the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) in Kuala Lumpur.
